AT THE GATES (Swe) are set to release THE FLAMES OF THE END, a brand new, 3-disc DVD

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers AT THE GATES are set to release THE FLAMES OF THE END, a brand new, 3-disc DVD set, on February 22nd through Earache Records.

The first disc in this indispensable set features a brand new documentary running over 2 hours, detailing the band's entire career from their early days to their reformation and hugely successful tour in 2008. The documentary, titled 'Under A Serpent Sun - The Story of At The Gates', features exclusive interviews and previously unseen footage, all filmed and directed by AT THE GATES guitarist Anders Bjorler.

Along with 'Under A Serpent Sun - The Story of At The Gates', THE FLAMES OF THE END also includes 'Purgatory Unleashed - Live at Wacken', a 75-minute live DVD, filmed at the band's reunion set at the Wacken festival in 2008, as well as 'Only the Dead Are Smiling', a collection of rare and archive footage of the band playing in locations around the globe from 1991 - 2008. The set comes housed in a deluxe, six-panel DVD digipak and includes a 40-page colour booklet.

Bolt Thrower (UK) announce support bands for European tour 2010!

British war machine BOLT THROWER has announced the support bands for their 2010 European tour.

“Support on the whole tour comes from the mighty Greek veterans, Rotting Christ! And to mix the package up a bit for everyone, there will be different additional bands playing each night, and so far we've asked Benediction, Asphyx and Dew Scented to play a few shows each. And as usual, there will also be local/unsigned bands on the bill. More bands/details will be announced soon.”

BOLT THROWER has always had a special bond with the Atak Club in Enschede / Holland. The small 300 capacity club was one of the first to start booking extreme bands in the late 80's.

”It was famous for it's out of control moshpits, stagedivers jumping off the balcony and crowd surfing wheelchairs! It's the only club Bolt Thrower have played on every tour in the last 20 years, 11 times in total, a true cult club and a real home from home for us. Sadly in 2008, after being battered beyond repair over the years, the old lady had to close. Atak gave Bolt Thrower the honour to play the last show ever there, which we celebrated with 300 guests as a special free show.

In 2009 Atak moved to a new building and now we would like to celebrate our first show in the new Atak with another special free show. After talking to the guys from Atak and our favourite beer brewery Grolsch, who are also from Enschede, we came up with the following:

The show will be on April 29th, and Asphyx, Rotting Christ and Dew-Scented will be joining us on stage. But, to stop people just ordering tickets and then not turning up, we will be asking for a 5 Euro “deposit”. Then at the show you will get a special “No Grolsch, No Glory” Bolt Thrower T-Shirt and a Flip Top bottle of Grolsch beer!

The new Atak is capped at 800 people, so if you want to help celebrate a new chapter in the Bolt Thrower / Atak history, you'd better hurry up and get your tickets soon!”

Promo 2009 Info/Update!!!

Embalmer has started writing for their new album (no label yet)... In the meantime, the band has also started recording a 2-song promo that will be distributed for free with shirt orders and made available for FREE DOWNLOAD online!! The writing on this record finds us taking our sound away from 13 faces of death, and instead, mixing all the classick elements of "Rotting Remains/Blood Everywhere" era Embalmer and doing it faster and even tighter for 2009!!! We think the new material will turn alot of heads, and we are convinced that anyone disappointed in "13 faces of death" should be happy with these songs!! We know we are so far...

Currently, the drums have been recorded by Tim Powell, with the rest of the band laying down Bass/Guitar/Vocals in the next couple weeks...! This will definitely offer the best recording quality we've had to date, while still maintaining some of that classic Embalmer griminess....

Greets everyone!
As I write this I am sitting in Casa de Flynn (ie Steve Flynn's pad) in Atlanta, Ga, freezing my ass off and suffering from a SkyeLilly induced Head cold.(Thank you my little blue eyed
We were in The "infamous", Led Belly Studios yesterday finishing the mixing of Atheist Live @ Wacken. It's a very stripped down, no overdubs live recording from our appearance @ Wacken Open Air in 2006 as part of the reunion dates we did. This was only the 4th show on what would become many. So why record the 4th show??...well we did not actually ever intended on it, but we found out that Wacken had raw tracks that could be re-mixed, whereas most recordings we get are from soundboards, and you cannot turn up gtrs, vox etc on those type of recordings..SO.... We obtained the raw tracks and have now mixed 8 tunes with Matt (Mastodon, Gnostic) at Ledbelly Studios here in the ATL. The results? A very VERY live(Mistakes and all) and raw set of tracks from the "Piece of Time", and "Unquestionable Presence" era of Atheist, it sounds suprisingly warm, and for those who were there in Germany that afternoon to see Atheist on what was probably one of the more "magical" performances we have ever had as a band, it was really the first time we had played for people who had been around back in the early days of the band, and were now writers, or owned record companies, plus all of the new fans of this strange Technical Metal genre of music.... this will encapsulate that experience for us, you and as well as those who were not there that day..... It was a great day!
Tonight 2/6/09 we are heading to Avatar rehearsal studios to write for the new Atheist record, Sonny, Chris, Flynn and myself..along with new Gnostic bass player JT helping us till Tony Choy arrives, will be continue sculpting, and creating this new piece of "art" that is materializing as the first new Atheist music in almost 16 years. Tony Choy will be joining us soon, and we can hardly wait to hear how it will all sound ourselves. Ok cheers to you all, and love to my SkyeLilly

While Displeased is already shipping pre-orders of our new album ‘Depression Tank’, we have decided to release on final preview track. ,,Green Angel’’ is one of the faster songs on the album and probably more in sync with our initial sound. As you might have noticed by now, we have a new singer/bassplayer. His name is Ralph de Boer and he’s been previously involved with the technical thrashband Sidiu. Our original singer Tom van Dijk had returned for the previous album ‘Haatland’, but he left during the recording of ‘Depression Tank’. Not the best of timing, but of course we cannot force anyone to stay in the band. Since we didn’t want to release an album with a singer who was no longer in the band, we decided to rerecord all the vocals with Ralph. Our new guy Ralph was a great find, since we were really anxious to keep the band sound intact. Dead Head thrash with a grunter just wouldn’t have sounded the same. While we were sad that Tom had to go, we are really happy with Ralph and think he did a great job on his first ever album.

Reunited death/thrash legends Goreaphobia have just completed the recording of Mortal Repulsion, the debut album for Ibex Moon Records, and have sent it for mastering. The band has also re-recorded some old classics for inclusion as bonus tracks. The new album features guitarist Alex Bouks, bassist/vocalist Chris Gamble, guitarist John McEntee (Incantation), and drummer Jim Roe (ex-Incantation).
Says Bouks about the album, "A lot of people had been asking when the record will be done for a long time, but we needed to do things right and not rush the album. This is the first time I have ever worked with a group of musicians I respect and that have worked together as a band. Everyone has been involved with the writing process. The only way I can describe Mortal Repulsion is 'extremely dark, atmospheric, aggressive, and heavy.' I am very happy about what we have created together. This is the record we were always meant to make - pure death metal in its darkest form. We look forward to playing live for all the fans in the next coming months."

At the height of the late 1980s the thrash and death metal underground was headed toward a new and exciting change, when a Philadelphia based extreme, darkened, death metal entity named Goreaphobia was born. Alex Bouks (guitars) and Chris Gamble (bass/vocals) founded the band in the summer of 1988. Alex and Chris had the same interest in extreme underground metal music. The style, sound, and lyrical concepts were influenced by some of the most inspiring, and pioneering bands of our time, bands like Repulsion, Necrovore, Pentagram (Chile), Necrophagia, Possessed, Carnivore, Voivod, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, and Autopsy to name just a few. In the summer of 1990, Goreaphobia released into the global metal underground scene their first demo. The band has had great worldwide success and support from fanzines, radio shows, record labels, and the strong underground fan attendance at their shows. Goreaphobia has shared the stage with countless well known and respected metal acts such as Morbid Angel, Nocturnus, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy, Death, Entombed, and Unleashed. With only one demo, and a 7" EP released by Relapse Records in 1991 named Omen of Masochism, Goreaphobia embarked on a large North American tour as the support act for New York death metal masters Immolation in the summer of 1992. Approximately one year later, the band decided to part ways and continue on to new ventures and other side projects. Through these times the strength and charisma of Goreaphobia still remained as strong as ever! Now in 2008 the renewed and compelling power of Goreaphobia has re-ignited both Alex and Chris to reconnect and continue the passion for the musical entity Goreaphobia. The Dutch pioneers of Death Metal are back!
Pestilence is currently finishing up their first record in 15 years. Expect more brutal, heavier and faster songs than any old Pestilence album. The album, entitled Resurrection Macabre, features eleven new tracks and the limited edition first print will include three re-recordings chosen by fans. Out Of The Body, Chemo Therapy and Lost Souls were voted most.
The songs are lyrically more in the vein of "Consuming Impulse". Meaning, they’re more “reality-style” than religious or philosophical. Some songtitles are: "HangMan (Into the mind of an executioner)", "Synthetic Grotesque (Trying to create through cloning)", "Fiend (Drugaddiction)", "Resurrection Macabre (The return of the Pestilence)", "Hate Suicide (Last hours of a suicide-bomber)" just to name a few.

Resurrection Macabre will be released March 16 2009!

I have left DENIAL FIEND -

I have decided to leave the band DENIAL FIEND, but it's NOT anything that should be looked at as - "on bad terms". I admit in some recent interviews I painted a pretty bleak pictue that may have appeared to be all one sided, but the truth is - it's just simple 'politics' - that's all.

I have heard that DENIAL FIEND will continue on with-out my involvement, and I really do wish them the best of luck with it.

I still feel that the album "THEY RISE" is a fantastic great album... we had a lot of fun creating it, but for me personally somewhere later on - that fun began to fade. So it is for the best that I just leave the band... once more - I wish the band and it's members good luck for the future.

Great news at the beginning of 2009!

In August 2008 Asphyx was recording 6 songs some kind of instrumental preproduction/demo just to try things out.

It turned out thát great that we have decided to use the recorded tracks for the new album. Asphyx added meanwhile 4 newer songs.

All guitars, bass and drums are already 'on tape'. Martin van Drunen will put his Voice of Hell on the (t)rack this month.

The tracks are raw, no-nonsense brutal, doomy and intense as you can expect from Asphyx.

As a bonus, the new album will include a livedvd of the Party San show 2007, the first reunionshow of the band.

Bassplayer Wannes and Lowlifemedia are ready with editing dvdrecordings.

Tracklist and artwork will be postponed soon. There's no releasedate yet.

We start mixing next week. We've been working hard on this for close to 2 months now and we couldn't be happier with the production on this. There's 10 songs and for those of you who are Death fans... (well technically Mantas fans) we covered the Infernal Death!!!!!!
